Welcome to the CENTER FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE's online scheduling system!

The CAE includes both WRITING CENTER and SUBJECT TUTORING services.

To make an appointment for a writing consultation or subject tutoring session, create your own account using your Jagmail email. Once logged in, click on a WHITE time slot on the day/time you would like to visit. To toggle between the schedules for the Writing Center and subject tutoring, click on the drop-down menu at the top of the online scheduler. Please be on time for the appointment that you select and remember to come back here and cancel online if you cannot make it to your appointment.

To join your online tutoring session, please come back to this scheduling system, select your appointment, and click "start or join online session." Your tutor will join the room at your scheduled time, and you will be able to work via chat, audio/video, document sharing, and whiteboard space.

If you cannot meet with a tutor during any of the times listed on our schedule, or wish to submit your an essay for asynchronous feedback, please utilize our 24/7 tutoring platform, ThinkingStorm. ThinkingStorm can be accessed through your USAOnline course site (click here for more details).

Subject Tutoring Appointments: Once you’ve made an appointment, please have access to your course materials, assignment, and textbook. Your subject tutor will work with you one-on-one to review concepts, work through examples, clarify your understanding, and answer your questions. NOTE: Subject tutors are not allowed to assist with graded assignments or homework problems. Tutors will review concepts using example problems and supplementary teaching techniques.

Writing Center Appointments: The consultation is not an editing session; instead, sessions are designed to be a collaborative instructional experience. Bring your ideas and be ready to work with your tutor to explore your work in detail!

Asynchronous Essay Feedback: Asynchronous essay feeback is now provided through the ThinkingStorm tutoring platform. Through this platform, students have access to asynchronous essay feedback (as well as live one-on-one tutoring) for up to ten hours per semester. ThinkingStorm can be accessed by clicking here.

Location: Marx Library, Second Floor (NOTE: We will be operating virtually for spring 2021)

Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday 9:00am-6:00pm (Central Time)
