Welcome to the CENTER FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE's online scheduling system!

The CAE includes both WRITING CENTER and SUBJECT TUTORING services.

To make an appointment for a writing consultation or subject tutoring session, create your own account using your Jagmail email. Once logged in, click on a WHITE time slot on the day/time you would like to visit. To toggle between the schedules for the Writing Center and subject tutoring, click on the drop-down menu at the top of the online scheduler. Please be on time for the appointment that you select. We look forward to working with you!

Subject Tutoring Appointments: Once you’ve made an appointment, please bring your course materials, assignment, textbook, and questions. Your subject tutor will work with you one-on-one to review concepts, work through examples, clarify your understanding, and answer your questions. NOTE: Subject tutors are not allowed to assist with graded assignments or homework problems. Tutors will review concepts using example problems and supplementary teaching techniques.

Writing Center In-Person Consultations: Please bring a hard copy of your paper with you, or arrive a few minutes early and print your paper in the Marx Library Learning Commons. Writing Center consultants are not allowed to assist with papers on laptops/tablets/phones, as this may lead to direct editing of the document and also results in students not being as engaged during the session. The consultation is not an editing session; instead, sessions are designed to be a collaborative instructional experience.

Writing Center Online Consultations: Online consultations are provided for students enrolled in fully online courses. After making your appointment, please attach your paper as a Microsoft Word document or email your file to Your writing consultant will download the file, provide comments, and reattach it during your scheduled time slot. You'll receive an email notification when your paper is ready. Please keep in mind that all documents are returned within 24 hours; therefore, we recommend scheduling in advance of assignment due dates. NOTE: We never directly edit or modify your document; all comments are provided using Word's commenting tool.

Location: Marx Library, Second Floor

Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday 10:00am-6:00pm; variable weekend hours
